Steve Godfrey Artist

Born Halifax, England. 1962.
I have drawn and painted most of my life.
Before moving to Spain in 2004 my painting consisted of commissions and personal works that I produced during my working life as a professional photographer.
I studied oil painting part time at the Edinburgh College of Art for two years before moving here with my family. Since settling in the mountains above Lake Viñuela I have had the opportunity to fulfil a lifetime ambition and become a full time artist.

I started exhibiting shortly after arriving here and interest in my work has been growing steadily.
To date commissions and personal works can be found in private collections in Australia, USA, Turkey, Spain and the UK.At present; examples of my work can be seen in Van Gestel Galery, Marbella, Spain.
My most recent work is inspired by the wonderful world of dance. I find the colour, energy and passion of this art form hugely stimulating and fits superbly the style of paintings I produce.
