Steve Godfrey Artist

Born Halifax, England. 1962

I have drawn and painted most of my life.
Before moving to Spain in 2004 my painting consisted of commissions and personal works that I produced during my working life as a professional photographer.
Since settling with my family in the mountains above Lake Viñuela, Andalucía. I have had the opportunity to fulfill a lifetime ambition and become a full time artist.
I started exhibiting shortly after arriving here and interest in my work has grown steadily.
To date, commissions and personal works can be found in private collections in Australia, USA, Turkey, Spain and the UK.
Inspiration for my painting mostly comes from my environment and the people around me. My time is divided between portrait commissions, studying horses, dancers, and characters that I meet from day to day.
